No lessor/owner for 30 years

I am living in a property for the last 40 years .  For the last 20 years no lease rent was collected as the lessor died.  To our knowledge the lessor did not execute a will . So we were paying prop tax and all other arrears meant to be paid by lessor. Now we have received a lawyers notice from an advocate claiming to represent all legal heirs of the lessor. This is highly unlikely and the advocate is probably lying or claiming to represent the legal heirs of the lessor without any succession certificate. How can I handle this matter ? Is this a criminal case of impersonation here ? We have asked for the succession certificate earlier and the other party could not produce it.

if u receaved a notice thn it must b a civil case.

and it ought to b a suit for possession which is going to be filed against u.

u need nt panic as the plaintiff has to prove his case as to he is the legal representative of the landlord or not....and further he has to prove his title by setting up a will or other document.

Is it possible for the lessees to claim ownership of this property through adverse posession ? The lease rent has not been paid for 23 years . The lessees have uninterrupted posession so far.
