Hi,
Recently I had sale a flat to a family who is christians by religion. Our building consists of all sindhi's in majority. Is there any reason that the society cannot give the NOC or create any delays in transfering our flat.

In Maharashtra, under the cooperative movement and open-membership parameter, refusal to transfer flat / membership on the basis of Caste / Religion and so on, is prohibited and would be illegal and discriminatory.
The mg.committee has no jurisdiction to refuse transfer and can be prosecuted under various laws. The membership refusal matter can be referred to the Registrar of Coop (of the respective ward), who will order for grant of membership.
