Not able to pay credit card dues at all, what to do?

Dear Sir,

I lost my job 4 months back and still trying hard to get a job.

I am a graduate from a reputed college in India and had been working in an MNC recently.

I have a good record of making Credit Card payments in last 6 years. In fact, I have never delayed or failed in making card payments till I was in a job.

However, all of sudden, an elder family member needed to be treated medically and I spent all of my money in her medical treatment. In the process, I was absent from job for 2 months and then I lost my job as well.

I don't have any sort of money as of now. In last 4 months, I have been receving lot of calls from Credit card companies to pay my dues. I have mentioned all my reasons to them. I am a bachelor and I don't possess any asset. I live in a rented place and all these years, I have supported my parents from whatever I earned.

I accept that I made terrible mistakes; as I did some over-expenditure recently; but I always thought of paying that considering my earning capability. However "saari musbatein ek saath aa gayi hain mujh par."

I have all the intentions of making my credit card payments including all the fines and interests. However I need to get a job and start earning.

But the big problem is, Credit Card company guys have been telling me, that they will report my dues to CIBIL and they can even make it difficult for me to get a job, if I don't pay their money. All I could tell them that I can pay their money only when I get a job and start earning. How can I pay their money, if I don't have it.

All I want is, I need some time from Banks, so that...as soon as I get a job and start earning, I will start paying their dues.

Kindly provide your valuable advice in this matter and suggest me the best possible way, so that I can stop my life to be ruined.

Warm Regards.

I suggest that you take this extremely seriously, since hotlisting in the credit bureau will affect your chances of getting any loan in the future. File a complaint with the banking ombudsman(https://www.rbi.org.in/Scripts/bs_viewcontent.aspx?Id=159) and insist on getting an official letter declaring you as a non-defaulter in this case. Pay instalments atleast.

Thank you Mr. Ramachary Sir, for responding to my query and helping me out.

I will submit the complaint form as mentioned by you.

However, I have bigger concern...

As I am currently not even able to pay the minimum due; is there a way...Bank can provide me some more time to make the payment ?

I have even mentioned them that, I have just applied for PF withdrawal from my last company. Hence I will pay the due as soon as I receive the PF money.

But bank executives are calling me daily multiple times and one of them have even visited my house.

APPROACH THE BANK WITH A REQUEST TO PROVIDE SOME MORE TIME FOR REPAY . N U CAN BACK UR REQUEST WITH UR EARLIER TIMELY CREDIT PAYMENT I.E UR CREDIT HISTORY.

or u can request to extend the credit period but then Interest will increase.
