Notarizing from notazised documents

Sir,

Can we notarise a document based on already notarised document when we do not have the originals with us? That means the document that is notarised (based on already notarised) will have two Notary sigantures, one original and other one is photocopy of previous notary. Is such documents are legally valid? This situation may arise when the original is lost and there is no way we can get duplicate of that lost document, but we have notarised copy of that original.

Regards,

Notarisation of the copy of a document which was originally notarised is nothing but attestation of the photocopy.  The legal validity will depend upon the circumstance where it is used or submitted.
