Occupancy certificate

Hi,

I had booked the flat in July 2010 and posession date was October 2011 and got delayed by three months and not yet ready fully. At the time of booking, the builder promised verbally on the occupation certification and was saying this as differentiation factor from other builders. Now, he is saying as he had promised verbally, not written, he would try his best to get it but, no guarantee. Hence, I would like to know the process of applying for occupation certificate. i.e when to apply , what are the mandatory things that authorities will look for and how much time does it take for the entire promise.

Really appreciate your inputs in this regard.

Thanks & Regards,

Venkat K

Dear Venkat

An Individual unit/flat holder cannot apply for OC

An OC can only be given by a Municipal Corporation of Ur city

upon following d prescribed guidelines/requirement upon OC is granted

and den only u can occupy ur flat

only upon completion of project a builder can apply for OC

a 3 mths delay is normal in current scenario

Hi,

Thank you very much for reply. Let me explain the situation we are in. The builder completed Drinage and Water connection. he has yet to get electricity connection. However, he completed the installation of transformer. He started doing landscape and telling us he will start car parking only after land scape is done. He is telling that he will only apply of occupancy certificate only after land scape and car parking is done. What are the prerequisites that are to be completed before applying for occupancy certificate? When it has to be applied?

Thanks & Regards,

Venkat K
