What is index 2? In co-operative housing societies the first owner will become member and the second one associate member. Ordinarily the Society will deal with the member. When a property is owned by more than one with individual members share specified or unspecified, outside entities should have a face to deal with. Generally they deal with the first name. In a co-operative housing society ordinarily only the first member has the right to vote. The second one will have the right only if the first one is absent. If the property is sold both have to sign the deed. At that time they decide how the proceeds are to be shared. If a dispute arises between the two on any kind of dealings with outside agencies normally th first one prevail. Otherwise the court or arbiter will decide.
