Partition of agriculture land

Father had 4 sons. Father died in 2000. Father made oral partition of his property (agriculture lands which he got as a share in joint Hindu family property). And got mutations in revenue records long before his death. Sons were enjoying their positions. But podi was not made till date. No survey was yet made to decide their respective land boundaries. Sons have also admitted of partitions but living together (while they were given seperate house no.s too) in many occasions in different courts in many litigations with other parties.
Now can any of the sons file a suit on the grounds of unequal partition?
After lapse of so many years, can lack of registered partition deed be the reason for court to admit such a suit?
