Passport query... 138 Section

Hello,

I am currently working for a finance organization and need to apply for a passport.

However, a few years back a non bailable warrant was issued against me which I stupidly ignored. As per my information the case has been dismissed. However, I am not sure if there is still any pending case against me...

Question 1 - How do I know if there are any cases against me? By how much time would i know if there are any case if i file an RTI?

Question2 - Assume if there are any cases against me.. say 138 Section / 420 section.. then, whether I can get a passport? If not, then what should i do?

Thanks

Nilesh

Approach the suprintendent of police of your District and explain to him your position and get clereance certificate from him. I am sure he will help you in the matter.

Dear Nilesh,

If you know about the case detail engage a local lawyer who will go and inspect the records of the case whereafter the status can be ascertained.  If in case as you have stated the case is dismissed  (for whatever reason) the process in lieu thereof also goes with it.

But to be double sure get the record screened by a professional lawyer.

Best Regards

Daksh
