Perjury / defamation in parallel to divorce case

Wife is sending letter signed by her to people of my  society even though divorce case is going on in the court. She has mentioned that her in-laws are very cruel people and nobody should buy their flat. In her petition she has mentioned that we had asked dowry even though we paid 50% of all the wedding expenses. So my question is can we file perjury or defamation case when divorce case is going on
