Poa for civil case

Hi- I want to give power of attorney for one of civil case filed against our family where my brother is also one of defendant, can I get the general power of attorney notarized in USA with USA notary and send to india so that my brother can sign vakalath on behalf of me and represent me in the case?

Or do we need to have the POA notarized in Indian Embassy and get that registered in india?

please let me know?

Notarised POA is suffice but it should be adjudicated before the DR

To my understanding, it is sufficient if you and your brother file a common  vakalath leaving the routine matters for the brother to your brother if he is so willing.

The notarised POA deed in favor of your brother to sign the vakalt and conduct the case on your bahalf is an option.

Since this is a civil case your presence before court is not essential and your brother can take care himself hence you can sign the vakalatnama duly attested by a notary public of that country and send it to your lawyer through your brother which also will solve the problem
