Procedure for nomination of a flat jointly held

Hello All,

My father & I jointly bought a flat in Mumbai couple of years back. Since we were both joints owners (My Father being the first owner) we had our name on the share certificate of the flat.

My father has passed away now and we had not filled any nomination form for the flat. When I checked with the society to convert the share certificate on my name, they asked me to submit a nomination form with a No-objection letter from my elder sisters etc.

Could you please guide me in a detailed manner on how do I go about this process? I'm clueless on this.

Thanks,

Marc.

Boss NOC from elder or smaller sister is not required to file a nomination or to transfer a flat. It's a lame and meaningless thing. Societies always play this mischievous game by getting in family matters. I'm not a lawyer but I'm dealing with the same issue. Society cannot do anything. File a complain to the registrar.
