Property dispute

My great grandfather willed his property to his son- my grandfather. The said property which is in Maharashtra was partitioned in 1965 between my grandmother, my father and my grandfather. My grandparents sold off their share of the property. Since my father died without leaving a will, his share then came to my siblings and my mother. My unmarried brother died in 2012 just a month after my grandmother died. Both were partners in a business and there are FDs in both their names. My brother died without leaving a will . My cousin sisters ie my father's sister's daughters have sent us court summons asking for their share in the property and FDs. Do they have a right?

Can someone please guide me on the partition of property. My grandfather partitioned his property in 1965 through a registered partition between my grandmother and his son. Do my grandmother and their son need to be co owners of the property or can my grandfather partition his property ashe desires?.
