Property dispute

Respected Sir/Madam,

I'm a Sunni Muslim, we are 4 ppl in legal heir for my father's property. My stepmother, 2 younger sisters and I'm the elder son. The property has a huge debt and I'm willing to pay the debt and pay fair share to rest of the legal heirs. Everybody accepted except One of my sister is not willing to transfer the property to my name nor willing to pay the debt. It is a 1200sq fully constructed area. What can do in this situation?

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you're facing.

1. Consult a Lawyer : They can guide you through the legal process.
2.  Mediation : Try to reach an agreement with your sister through mediation.
3.  Legal Heir Certificate : Ensure this is obtained for your father's property.
4.  Court Intervention : If needed, the court can help resolve the dispute.

I hope this helps you move forward. Good luck!

All the legal heirs are liable for the debt incurred by the deceased to the extent of and proportionate to the property they have inherited from the deceased.

If no amicable settlement is not possible, you may file a suit for partition detailing out the property left intestate as well the outstanding debts qua the easte inherited.

Father's debt shall have to be owned and repaid by all his LRs.

Get the issue sorted out amicably.
