Property regsitered in parents name

Dear Sir I had booked a flat for which i had paid from the joint account of myself and wife from our legal earnings However we decided to register the property in her mothers name as she doesnt own a property.Nkw rent comes from the property and she pays tax on it My question is 1)Did i violate any rules by registering property in wifes mothers name where as money was paid from legally earned income of husband and wife 2)Would it count as a benami transaction 3)The regiatration was done in 2014.If we have unknowingly violated any rules whats the remedy now Thanks Arin
