Quashing_498a_timeforcasehearing

Respected members/lawyers,

I wanted to know how much time does it take for High courts to hear a quashing petiiton of 498A if I filed today and dispose it off.  Is there any legal time frame within which a quashing petiiton needs to be heard and disposed or it can also take several months or years before it is heard by High court.

Please go to a good lawyer and show the FIR and other charges leveled against you and others. Now a days when a 498A is filed they are making allegations such a way that you will not get Quash in High court easily. So first you have to make sure based on the allegations filed on you whetehr you will get it quashed it or not for sure.

It all depend on one what ground quashing of the FIR under S498A etc. IPC is being sought. If both parties/spouses agrees to settle their dispute by entering in to a compromise, than the quashing proceedings become simpler and it expedited in few months itself otherwise if there is no compromise between both parties/spouses the matter can get delayed for many months even a year or more.
