Quashing fir u/s 498a

I file the petiton for quashing the Fir at chandigarh high court. At the day of listing opposite party reach before the judge and informed to the judge that they have no objection to quashing the same. Judge ordered for recording the statment before the chief metropolitant magistrate of district court and come to him. Now it is necessary to persent before judge in personal for quashing the petition.

I would like to know it is necessary to appear  in person before high court at the day for next date?
