Recover amount paid to lawyer

Hi

Is there any way I can recover money paid to a lawyer who didnt do the work?

I paid him in advance for a prelitigation letter which he was supposed to deliver almost one month ago, yet he not finished and cant tell when it will be done.

What can I do in this situation? I am no further interested to work with him, just want my money back.

And a serious divorce lawyer :)

Please make a complaint in writing narrating the incidences for payment to the lawyer with some evidences of payment addressing the president of the Bar to which the lawyer belongs or send the complaint to the respective Bar council chairman, you will get relief if your complaint is found to be true and genuine.

1) What is the proof of payment of money . Only oral statement has no meaning.

2) Bar council will need an affidavit with fees which is not small amount.

3) and you have to engage a lawyer to proceed. starting from drafting of affidavit.

4)  Normally the case goes to Bar council of India Delhi  and finally to SUPREME COURT where you have to attend FOR proper follow up.

5) and in spite of all this which other advocate will have trust on you.
