Redevelopment of ancestral property

we are landlords and have ancestral property, which we are redeveloping thru a builder.

we are getting approx 2500 sq ft area.  we want to take the area as 500 sq ft x 5 flats or 625 sq ft x 4 flats.  So can I have multiple flats under my name . Is there any rule regarding number of flats I can own under my name within Mumbai limits.

mr. kumar

there is no limit for making flats registered in your name ,you can buy as many flatss in ur name but you have to prepare or pay the income tax return including the costs of all these flats ,beeter you form some housing society of youre dears ones and make flats in the society name.
