regarding Defamation

Hi. My self G syamala Rao, Unfortunately I had to stole some cash from my company which I'm guilty for that and also I have returned everything and the officials Also ok with that but after confirmation some guys from the company enquireing about me and Defamation my name in that area, is that true they can do what ever they want because I stole some money which I have returned everything.
