This is against ethics and values when you are bound by the contractual obligation that is most relevant while securing employment.
Members can not state it's validity and it always depends on your ex-employer either to proceed or not legally.
Some companies take it very seriously depending on the responsibilities entrusted to that employee during his employment.
Several employees have stolen the database of customers, designs etc., and joined the competitor company and wrecked the business of their past employer.
