Samir Jha (Advocate) 29 August 2011
Dear Mr. Rakesh,
As per the terms of appointment, you have excercised your right and have given two months notice. But it is not mandatory upon the company to keep you in employment for next two months. Hence, even prior to it, if they get your replacement they can waive off your two month notice period or can reduce it.
You are required to follow up, in writing, about the status of your resignation so that in case some trouble with regard to your resignation arises you can have something in writing to defend your self. You can also withdraw your resignation before it is accepted by the competent authority.
Thanks
