regarding will

My dad before his death mentioned that his shop after death will goes to his son. just mentioned. is the will needed? i am the daughter. i can be the witness bcz he said that infront of me. still is the will needed to prove?

That is oral will need to prove by witnesses. You can testify that .

If the property is self owned then the will can be made for whole of the property but if the property is ancestral then only the will shall be acceptable to one third of share. A Muslim can make an oral will in presence of witnesses. If you are the witnesses you need to file the probation and testify in court. However you need to prove that your father made a will while being in sound mind and inpresence pf you and your mother.
