Registration of religious trust

A christan group wants to register a religious trust. They also want to have business activity too. What are the scope and how it can be registered. The  Charitable and Religious Trusts Act,1920 says about pettition only. It is not telling about the procedures or restrictions. Should  it be registered only under Indian Trust act and Income Tax act? Is there any provision of law that court permission will be required to register such trust.

Well sir it is in Nagarkatta Jalpaiguri district Wet Bengal. The trust to be registered will be solely christan minority and is being eastablished to strenthen the minorities immotionally. The trustees have no intention of going into business activity but to give protection to the needy old and destitute ladies of the christan minorities. Its source of income will be donations and grants. I hope I have cleared your doubts.

sir indian trust act is a general law applied to ALL kind of trust in india wheres Charitable and Religious Trusts Act,1920  is specific law applied to charitable and religious trust ONLY. in your case, i think it is charitable and religious trust.

so it should be registered under Charitable and Religious Trusts Act,1920. the procedure of petition is outlined in CPC. consult a civil lawyer in that regard.

In addition to registering as Trust, in case the Charitable Trust is planning to get contributions from abroad, the Trust shall be covered under FCRA 2010. You may go through the following procedure also in addition to initial registration.Use the following link to see the details:
