I am one of the joint owners of a property in mumbai.Its a flat which i have rented and the same is coming up for expiry.I and the tenant have decided to renew the lease on the same terms but increased rent.Earlier agreement is registered/stamp duty paid and police n.o.c.aquired.Is there a shorter way of renewing the lease without going through the whole process of drafting a new agreement/paying stamp duty and getting a police n.o.c.Please advice if there is a simpler process i can adopt to extend the current lease for another year and by which i am legally protected in all aspects.
