Resident welfare association asking again membership fees

Dear Members,

I have taken an apartment and paid the Rs.300/- Resident Welfare Association membership for life time as it was Rs.100/- for one year membership. One RWA election also held and the elected members served for 2 years. Now new election is going to take place so in GBM it was decided to for election committe/commission to conduct the election. The new election committee is asking the Rs.1000/- as membership entry fees to be eligible to vote for RWA election as per UP Apartment Act Bylaws. But we have already taken the membership by paying Rs.300/- and for which they are not considering. And if we dont pay rs.;1000/- now it will be marked in the dues against that particular flat owner.

This is the case of :

Gaur Homes

Govindpuram,

Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Please reply for my doubts as under:

1. Is it right by election commission of society to ask again the membership fees of Rs.1000/-

2. What if we dont pay Rs.1000/- now and can we vote legally or not>

3. What if we dont pay rs.1000/ now and will it be recovered from us after some time.

4. What will happen to our Rs.300/- amount already paid for lifetime membership fees.

5. for rs.300/- we are not having the receipt which was given at that time with us.

Regards,

P. Sharma
