The eldest male member before (Sujata sharma vs Manu Gupta) can become Karta.

Karta is having eminent power comparing with other members in the HUF.

As per your query revocation of the power of Karta arise when karta  is doing improper activities against the right  of the members of HUF. such as selling property to get cash to play gambling , So the members of the HUF ask for partition , Then karta right to alienate the property revoke and if the karta has already transfer the property then next  step is to move to the court.
