Hello everyone...
please tell me about the rights of a private counsel/complainant counsel(other than PP) in a state case.
I am engaged as a counsel by the complainant in a FIR Case u/s 376 IPC but the Ld. Sessions judge is not willing to hear me, he is inclined to hear the PP only...
please tell me some good authority of SC or some other law/rule which says that court must hear the pvt. counsel.

Judge must and should listen defendent councel arguments. Otherwise there is not justice.

The question is for complainant counsel engaged privately other than PP whereas the above reply of ld adv Chary is creating confusion! Defendent means so called accused who is defending himself from the allegation as per my knowledge.
One judgement is there from Allahabad HC where the private counsel was denied in criminal case of 498a
