Rti application for private company

CIC Says , private company should provide information and comes under ambit of RTI act unless it is eroding companies competitive position. 

I have applied for private company ( Multinational) for salary information but the answer is " Private company do not come under RTI act ambit" . Please guide further steps to get the information.
