Probably you are referring to SDM as authority under Rules framed by the state under and you are Hindu!

“Maintenance and Welfare of Senior Citizens (MWPSC) Act, 2007”

Download the rules in your state and relate.

There are many threads on similar queries at LCI that can be searched thru SEARCH option on left hand side in this web page in threads, Articles, Files etc e.g; as posted by you and even related ones

Say;

Now parents can evict abusive adult children from their house”

Now Senior Citizens can evict negligent son or daughter from their home in 21 days time

Son can live in Parents house only at the mercy of his Parents, upto the time the Parents allow”

Under my profile

DIL has NO forced share in spouses, FIL/MIL’s self earned/acquired property.

DIL is not co-parcener in spouse’s, In law’s ancestral property.

DIL (Spouse-wife) is legal heir of other spouse and can stake claim in estate/property left by her spouse, undisposed in his lifetime.

The DIL may try to maintain good relations with inlaws and can succeed to become a bridge to repair relations and parent in law by their sweet will agree to let DIL remain in any property or even agree to provide share/ownership of estate/property.

The authority can assign inquiry to amla ( staff/infrastructuure) placed at his/her command.
