Dear Mr Hitesh, This is an academic query however this time I ll answer it. 'Proviso' is a provision of law which carves out an exception to the main section. For Eg:- Section 149 of Companies Act 2013, is a section relating to appointment of directors. 2nd proviso to section 149(1) states that prescribed companies shall appoint atleast 1 woman director.
