Hello Sir,
My friend got married to a person in a temple 12 years back. That point of time they went to the registar's office to get the marriage registered but they never collected the marriage certficate (dont know whether marriage is registered or not ). They are living seperately for more than 7 years now and recently my friend decided tomove on with some other proposal. Can you please help what steps have to taken so that she doesn't have any legal problems later.

Your friend has to approach court for divorce b coz she lived with him for five years. It is to avoid legal problems later.

hello,
if the marriage is registered then they should get divorce from the court otherwise he can charged for the offence of Bigamy.

Even if the marriage is not registered then also u shud obtain divorce decree from court
