Sensational murder of Aarushi-Talwar accused in the double murder
9.2.2011 (UNI) The sensational murder of Aarushi and Hemraj today took a new turn when a CBI court pronounced her parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar accused in the double murder case.
CBI Special Judicial Magistrate Preeti Singh while rejecting the closure report of the CBI ordered that Rajesh and Nupur Talwar be made accused in the murder case.
The dentist couple have been charged with murder, criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence.
The Judge asked the Talwars to appear before the court on February 28 for the next hearing in the case. Both of them can be arrested any time by the CBI.
The Judge said the Talwars had destroyed evidence and hatched a conspiracy.
She also ordered that the case will now be pursued in the District Court instead of the CBI court.
Aarushi (14) was found murdered at her residence in 2008. The body of their domestic help Hemraj was also found on the terrace of the house later.
Earlier, the Talwar's lawyers had submitted a nearly 50-page protest petition to the CBI Special Judicial Magistrate and sought further investigations into the case and the rejection of the CBI's closure report.
The investigation was handed over to CBI on June 1, 2008.
After investigating for more than two and a half years, the CBI subsequently filed a closure report, citing lack of 'strong evidence' in the case. The premier investigative agency came under criticism from all quarters for filing the closure report.
However, the parents of Aarushi have alleged that the probe by the CBI in the case was 'unscientific'.
The sources said the couple will challenge the court's order in a higher court. UNI
