I have a query regarding service benefits after suicide.
A punjab govt. employee committed suicide a year ahead of his retirement.In case of natural death the department gives benefits like
- service to dependent wife/son/daughter
- gratuity
- ex-gratia
- pension
- other than this money from EPF account and leave encashments
- there can be some other monetary benefits too. which may be unknown to me
My question is if the person has commited suicide leaving behind a suicide note that he is taking this step because of official work load. News is in the newspaper and case is under police investegations. Does his family entitled to all ablove listed benefits or some of them cease just like isurance payout in case of suicide.
