Serving foreign summons

My brother is a US resident who has filed a lawsuit against a person who was a green card holder but has since relocated to India. The cause of action is in the US when the other person was a resident. What is the right way to ensure the summons for the lawsuit are served correctly in India, and applicable in the US?

Dear Querist,

The Summons in such cases are always served through the Consulate - The Indian Consultate in your US State - would help you with this. In addition some states do recognise service by email directly. Check up the local procedural rules there.

You can take a order from US court for publication in local news paper in india.
