Should one pay cooling charge beyond MRP ?

Respected Gentlemen and Ladies,

When i purchased a soft drink (7 up) with MRP Rs.25/-  from a hotel at Kasaragod, (Kerala) recently, i had to pay additional Rs.3/- as cooling Charge as requested by them.

Is there any legal provision to do so?

What actions can be taken against them for exploiting consumers...?

Hello,

Supreme Court in one of the case justified hotel/restaurant to charge price more than normal on bevarage as they provide other facilities such as chair n table to sit, etc. But when it comes to sale at shops, shopkeeper cannot charge more.
