Signature verification from a photocopy

It is being alleged by the POA givers that their signatures are forged. They gave me the POA notarised 20 years ago. The original is now missing. Can signature verification take place using the photocopy of the alleged POA or is the original POA with signatures on it is absolutely mandatory to verify if the signatures are forged or real.

Dear Pushkar,

Original is required to find out the genuineness or otherwise of the signature because pen pauses, line quality, penlifts etc. are not possible to be detected in case of a photocopy.
