Society harassing

My father passed away intestate by nominating me (100%) in the flat. I have a brother, too. I want to give him 50% share in the flat, so we both prepared a affidavit-cum-declaration to the society that we both are co-owners of the flat. This idea was given to us by a lawyer who told us that society will accept this.

Now I want to sell my flat and society is not accepting our ownership. They want succession certificate from the court.

Is there any other way?

Thanks

after the death of your father you and your brother had given the mutual consent on co - ownership ,you are not registered as owner of that flat

you have to produce the succesion certifiacte and you can get it  from revenue court by submitting your fathers death certificate alongwith application form and affidavits declaring yourself as the children of them.

Thanks Anish,

Could you tell me how to obtain succession certificate? how much cost? how time-consuming? Any other options than succession certificate?
