Status of compulsory marriage registration rule

Its been heard for long time that the Marriage registration is going to be made compulsory and somewhere its states that the bill is presented in budget session and some other that the bill has already been passed and its already in rule.

So what is the current status of this mandatory marriage registration rule in India ?

Bill no. 33 of 2007 is already Law in force and almosty all States have complied more or less with State Amendments.

You have to check your State for the same.

In India a ceremonial Hindu marriage with photos and enough evidence is considered as valid marriage and even a girl can file 498a and DV against the husband with such proofs.

But if the husband is a NRI or foreign citizen then everywhere the Higher courts,MEA,Embassy all ask for MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE and these photos, videos and witness are not entertained and all these 498a,DV,extradiction,declaring PO and LOC will fail.

So if someone going for a fight with NRI or foreign national with pics, invitation cards and few witness then please forget they can only trouble the in laws and the relatives and maybe the dog and cats of the husband living in India.

In Hinduism a marriage with Banana tree is considered valid but the MEA and Foreign Embassy cannot accept such marriages :)
