Stoppage of payment of a post dated cheque

What  is the legal postion of a person who has stopped the payment of a posted dated chqeue to somebody to whom no amount is due for any reason whatsoever.   The person was under pressure to issue a cheque for the amount which is not entitled to him anyway.    IN case of stoppage of payment of  post dated cheque,  would it be a logcal ground that no amount was due to him but coercion applied by him to, a posted dated cheque was the neceessity of the hour.  What is meant by a legally enforceable debt.  The person who has received he money  can not proved that the amount of cheque was legally enforceable debt.

Please throw some light.

I think you can go ahead and stop payment of the chq if you are sure that legal liability cannot be proved. For your other queries, do some google search yourself - you will know.
