Streedhan

Can anyone tell me what exactly is streedhan.  In the case of divorce proceedings going on how can one prove that the jewellery is still with the husband.   what are the laws if the husband has mortgaged the jewellery and is refusing to acknowledge that the jewellery is with him.  How to gather proof in such cases and what proof and what are the laws.  Genuine answers only please.

@Owner: If you have his PAN number and DoB, than get a CIBIL report, where you will find details of his all loans and accounts. And later you can file it in the court and through your advocate ask your husband to provide details of jewellary morgaged..Hope you have the bills with you...

Thanks Ravinder,

There are no bills as it was old gold and cash.  I have proof of the cash given.  We lived in a joint family with a joint business and i have  no idea in whose name the jewellery is mortgated.  I know the banks where it is mortgated.  how can i gather proof.  I dont have his PAN card no.  and what is CIBIL report, where do i get it from?

@Owner: If you know is DoB than you can find his PAN number from the below link,

https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/knowpan/knowpan.jsp

though you have to make some hits & trials in it as he may have used short form in his name so try all permutation and combination with his name..

If you have some friend in any bank, he can help you in getting CIBIL report. CIBIL report is a credit report where you can find all the credit history of any individual or entity..Though I doubt it will help you in any way since you do not have any proof that you own that jewellary..Still give it a try..
