Streedhan query, what if they say saving since ages, no bill

Dear members

time and again i have read in this forum, that in the event of demand of return of streedhan, the original bills are to be produced, for them to claim back , and they claim they spent lacs and lacs of rupees on marriage

now, what will happen in a stituation where they claim that the money they spent on marriage was being collected since the birth of their" pyaari gudiya"

dekho ji, hum to humare gudiya ke shaadi ke liye pai pai jaama kar rahe they ji, rupiya rupiya jodkar itne lakho rupiye jaama kiye ji haamare laadli ke shaadi ke liye ( in this case what use will be the use of filing a TEP petition to the income tax dept) how can this money which is accumalated over a period of time be shown to the income tax.

also in the same breadth if they say, yeh gehene aur sone ke jevar haamari par dadi chod gayi thi, yeh laadli kie shaadi ke liye, haamare paas to kuch kaagaz nahi hai,

also in the marriage ceremony, where the photographs are used to prove the jewellery she brought to the house of the husband, the bride is dressed to her best for the photo ops, she uses kilos of gold to dress for the photo ops, now, for the photo ops, these are mostly imitation jewellery for the sake of the "heroine" to look good. now prima facie she looks loaded with jewellery, but in reality she is wearing imitation jewellery, now how to we counter the claim in photographs

request you all to kindly give your opnion to counter such fake claims to claim the gold in stridhanm thanks

As a customery practice in any community, the list of all such things, goods, material and articles is prepared and exchanged between both the parties and duly signed. Have you ever thought about this? However, if the things get worst, it is advisable to amicably settle and do not go into the nicety of interpretation of law and evidence Act.

@hemang.......thank you for your kind reply, as you said, the list was not prepared, nor signed, now that  a DV has been slapped on me, along with demand for stridhan to be given back, what do i do?, because this woman took away her belongs with her when she went away and then slapped a false dv on me, i am at my wits end  what to do.

Now, make all honest and sincere efforts, consult your elders and also involve the "reasonable persons" from your in-laws, who may always scan justification. I would advise you to have a turn for "amicable settlement". Do not afraid of Domestic violence complaint. Here each party has to prove the case. Saying that huge volume of ornaments were given in Stridhana is not sufficient. At the most, it is an allegation and not a proof. Proof is something different upon which the court would rely and take a decision. So, if the trial proceeds, let her establish the case. You can also bring best evidence during the course of trial and disprove her allegation.
