Stridhan list

Learned members.

The girls side has given a long list of articles at the CAW during the counselling session which they are saying had been given to us at the time of marriage and also after on a regular basis.

There are few things of her which are actually with us which we are happy to return, but the major quantum she has already taken while 50% of the list was exagerrated. But kindly bear in mind that she has not only taken her stuff but also my mothers jewellery. We did not initiate any action thinking, that they might want to come back for reconcilliation and this would get resolved instead they choose to file complaint in the CAW cell.

So query being a) Should I agree to the stuff that we have b) Any mechanism that we can retrieve my mothers jewellery c) If my wife side only wants to extract money, then can they ask for closure of mediation and file an FIR

Kindly advise

You prepare four lists: 1.  Actual articles received as "stri dhan".  2.  The articles from the list 1, which were taken away by the wife. 3.  The remaining articles, which she entitled to take away.  4. The list of your mother's articles, which have been illegally taken away by the wife.   You give away the articles in list 3 under acknowledgment before the CAW cell with sufficient and reliable witnesses.  For recovering articles mentioned in list 4, your mother can file police complaint under Section 406 or file a civil suit for recovery of movable properties.

Dear Chandu Ji

Thanks for your response. Highly appreciate the same. Additionally, can you also please guide me, if the wife left the house when the husband lost his job and later after a year when things started to get a little better, she has filed cases is CAW. Would the court not take into consideration, that wife is only using the husband for monetary means. Any suggestions/ comments welcome.
