Please guide in the following problem.
My friend by name Anil Kumar Reddy is a christian convert. His given name is Anil Kumar and the surname is Reddy. In all his certificates and licenses etc his name is written as Anil kumar Reddy. Accordingly in his passport too his complete name Anil Kumar Reddy is written in the given name column by leaving the surname column as blank. Now he wants the surname Reddy to be written in the surname column of the passport by leaving the given name Anil Kumar in the given name column. Thus there is no change of name but only the style of writing the name in the passport. Is it permissible? possible and if yes how to proceed further and what all he has to do? please guide.
