Take patta

Dear legal advisors

We have a agriculture land on our grand parents name. And the land registered under my grand parents. But the patta on temple name. But the thing is the land used to buy, sell and mortgage by the many peoples since 1827. We have a document copy from 1827. Our grand parents purchased the land on 1988 from the individual from whose name registered on that land at that period.  Please suggest me if the land registered under individual name of multiples since 1827 then how the patta under temple name. And suggest me that how to transfer the patta name on my grandparents.

Seek professional services of a local prudent lawyer for analyses of documents and advise.

You can ask your grandparents to apply for transfer of Patta to their names before the concerned Tahsildar office.

If the revenue authority refuses to accept the application then your grandparents can file a suit for mandatory injunction against the tahsildar and district collector seeking direction to transfer Patta to their names on the basis of registered sale deed on their names and other evidences to prove their possession and enjoyment including the possession and enjoyment of their predecessors.

Your grandparents bought the land in 1988 so why didn't they apply for a change of the name in Patta?
