Tenant Eviction.

A tenant is in lease for 11 months under an agreement.

Now, before the expiry of the agreement the land lord has moved to court against the tenant.

So as soon as one moves to court against his tenant, the tenant changes its character from "Contractual Tenant" to "Statutory Tenant".

Now, my question is will the agreement be applicable in this case as the agreement has not expired though the tenant's status has changed.

Can anyone help me with providing citations with this regard??

Thanks in Advance.

If the agreement is not registered no help from court.

Such matters are contested more on tectics than law. You must have an expert aevocate to do it.

The agreement is registered.

If it is 11 months no need of registration. Rental agreement is enough.
