I like to bring to your notice to GCDA - Greater Cochin Development Authority s new proposal to develop Marian Drive to Vaduthala by destroying the nature.
In 15th may 2012, MalayalaManora newspaper sri S KrishnaKumar ,chairman GCDA had said that people must not consider environment while development and try to interfere in it
Kindly note that when marian drive is extended to vaduthala ,the water body between "thanthoni thuruth" and land of vaduthala wll become extinct .Which will lead to distraction of aquatic animals and it lead to no development and attract anyone as the backwates is no more in that area .
In the name of development GCDA is trying to cover up these water body and sell the land to big cooperate , as done in case of goshree bridge and goshree chathyath road . (You can see big cooperates is building flats ,where in past it was water body in that area .)
Why is THE ENVIRONMENT (PROTECTION) ACT, 1986 silint here ?
What are possiable ways to ensure development positively
