Threatning insrance agent

Hi All,

This is a case of a lady insurance agent, the case starts from taking an mediclaim insrance policy of one of her clients. After about 15 days to complete 2 years since taking the policy, the client had to undergo kidney stone operation, so the client decided to file a claim of his medical expenses. He completes all the medical formalities and files a claim, but the claim is rejected as the insurance company has a rule of rejecting the kidney stone operation which are commenced before completing 2 years from the date of commencment of insrance policy.

Now the client is threatning and abusing the lady insurance agent on phone to pay the expenses accured by him or he wold physically assault her.

What actions can be taken against the client by the insrance agent?

Lady may gently describe the process to customer and may advice to approach consumer forum. A competent and experienced lawyer handling consumer cases can help the customer. It shall be appropriate to involve elders in the matter and sit with the customer and advice him to refrain from such conduct.

The lady may record the incidences of threat and abuse and lodge a complaint with police.

This lady shall file a complaint with police after recording the conversation and can get restraining order from court if required.
