Time limitation: judgements pls

Dear Ld members,

HC passes an order (interim relief for X no of days). Subject challenges/SLP in SC. Unfortunately the SLP gets rejected and it also exhausts the interim relief period provided by HC.

Does this mean that approaching Supreme Court is unwise, because in case the challenge/pray is rejected, & there is no consideration on the time spent (from filing - hearing time) in interim relief period by lower courts?

I am informed that there have been few judgements by SC on the subject, where in the procedural time taken by superior court is exempted from the relief period provided by lower court. In other words.....in case SLP gets rejected..then HC orders apply from date of rejection of pray/slp.

Inputs along with links to SC judgements will be of great help.
