Undertaking of deceased

My aunt filed a partition suit against my grandfather and father. On first hearing my grandfather gave an undertaking that he and my father will not sell property. My grandfather died last year. What will be sanctity of his undertaking after his death? Will it affect his successors through will or it is null after his death.

On expiry the undertaking given by grandfather stand lapsed so far grandfather is concerned.
