Vehicle accident - tribunal

hi
in case of vehicle accidents, for the concerned  /affected party, what is the difference between going to motor vehicle tribunals compared to going for civit suit..
i heard that, going to tribunals will get your lump sum settlement from the insurance whereas going to court, will get the accused penalized but no settlement.

what exactly is the remedy for affect party in case of vehicle accidents.

The Motor Vehicle Disputes Tribunal resolves disputes between consumers and motor vehicle traders.

It depends, in the criminal complaint, the accused if found guilty will be punished as per law, in MACT, the insurance amount can be claimed for compensation.
